Don't Make Me Laugh
According to The 100 Greatest Stand-Ups on Channel 4 last night, Harry Hill is a funnier man than Bill Hicks was. Well I never. I'd always assumed that, as a comedic genre, radical satire was superior to pulling stupid faces. And is Peter Kay really funnier than Bill Bailey or Dylan Moran? Only if you're a pie-eating northern bastard.
Most shocking of all was the news that Billy Connolly is the greatest comedian of all time. The man laughs at his own jokes, for fuck's sake. I'm not surprised his father abused him - if he was here right now I'd like to see how much of his banjo I could fit up his arse.
The best stand-up I've ever seen was Jerry Sadowitz at the Comedy Store:
"If I'd known Jill Dando was going to be shot on the Saturday, I'd have raped her on the Friday. As it happened I had to make do with the Sunday."
Tell me that's not funnier than some Weegie welder talking about jobbies.

Obviously this list has zero credibility - neither Gallagher or Carrot top are included.
Right, jb, and Carlos Mencia is also conspicuously absent.
I was at the bar on Friday and some ridiculously loud Mexican dude was shouting all of Mencia's painfully unfunny bits over, and over, and over. I wanted to stab out my own ears, but the waitress had already taken away my fork and knife, so I had to resort to thinking suicidal thoughts all night. For that reason alone I hate Mencia.
Oh, and what about the awful Larry The Cable Guy? His existence is a proof for atheism.
Sorry, I am blissfully unaware of all of the above. I can offer an amusing Sadowitz anecdote though, courtesy of Wikipedia:
He famously opened the Montreal Comedy Festival with the line:
"Hello, moose-fuckers,"
and followed this up with:
"I'll tell you why I hate Canada: half of you speak French, and the other half let them."
He was promptly attacked by an outraged audience member.

Bunny: Mencia is a hispanic redneck, if you can picture that. He makes rednecks feel good about their stupidity. Which is pretty much the same thing Kinison did. Gallagher amuses the people who find humor in seeing others get splashed with water. Carrot Top amuses no one, except himself and the profoundly retarded.
Oh right. A bit like Jasper Carrott then.
Sadowitz is the only one anywhere near a brilliant as Hicks. Do watch his last ever recorded gig on Youtube. I've just had a look at Sadowitz website and his reasons for not being on TV anymore
